These paintings embody my exploration with materials and ideas to highlight the natural beauty and features of the Santa Cruz coastal area. I spend a good amount of time along the cliffs of Santa Cruz county as part of a surfing life. The temporal and ethereal aspects of the coast provide the inspiration to assemble found woods and then paint the images as directed by the woodgrain and other features. All drawings are done with a wood-burning pen. The circles, dinosaurs, use of doors, and reclaimed materials all point to the theme of time. Time passing, time spent, time fleeting. Our moments are precious, and I make this art to remind myself of that. Thank you so much for coming here to visit this online gallery.
