Kevin Lohman is a nature photographer living in Santa Cruz, California. He studied marine science on Long Island, New York, before moving to the west coast to continue his studies at Moss Landing Marine Labs, then at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. Along the way, photography became an integral part of his life through photojournalism, event, and sports photography. Later, pursuing a career in high tech brought Kevin back to Santa Cruz, His love of marine science, combined with the inspiration of the beautiful coast and wildlife of California, moved Kevin from "taking pictures” to “creating images", which he shares with you through these special moments captured in time.
Kevin is currently using Sony mirrorless and Nikon DSLR cameras, with a variety of lenses. Wildlife images are typically created with long lenses (400mm to 600mm), and may include teleconverters for "extra" reach. Landscape images are often created with wide angle or medium telephoto lenses.
